Introduction
Passport Office, Hyderabad was opened in the year 1976 after bifurcating from Passport Office, Chennai. The Passport Office was started as a small organization and after 23 years of public service the workload has increased more than 10 fold with corresponding increase in staff strength. Today, it has grown into the second biggest office next to Mumbai office. In Secunderabad, which is very close to the railway station, bus stop and airport.
Office Space: We have shifted to our own premises in Secunderabad, which has three floors consisting of 60,432 sq. ft. There is a proposal to construct residential complex within the premises of the new office.

News and Announcements

The current opening time of appointments is 4:30 PM.
Online Payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at Passport Seva Kendra(s) under this Passport Office. Click herefor details.
  1. Online payment and booking of appointment for PCC has been made mandatory at 6 PSKs under jurisdiction of Hyderabad RPO. The appointments will be released on 18th Oct. 13 for 22nd Oct. 13 onwards.
  2. Categories of Applicants allowed as “Walk-In with ARN” The following mentioned categories of applicants are allowed as “Walk-in Applicants”.
    1. Applicants for passports under Tatkal scheme.
      1. Fresh
      2. Re-Issue
    2. Applicants for normal passport :
      1. Senior citizens above 60 years
      2. Minors below 15 years:
        1. If only one of the parents holds a valid passport but other does not, then both parents should be physically present along with the original passport of one parent while submitting the passport application of minor child.
        2. And if, both the parents are having passports, then any one parent can be present with both parents' passports (in original) while submitting the application for minor child.
        3. In case none of the parent has the passport then both should be physically present with their ID Proofs.
      3. Physically challenged applicants (including visually impaired, deaf and mute reporting with medical certificate)
       Applicants falling under above categories can apply either with online appointment or in walk-in mode, although it is desirable that such applicants should come to Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) with the online appointment. Applicants, who wish to apply in walk-in mode without booking online appointment, need to register Online, fill in the online application form and generate Application Reference Number (ARN) before visiting the PSK. Such applicants may visit their respective PSK with required set of documents and a copy of printed ARN sheet between 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM only. Walk-in applicants who have paid fees through the mode of SBI Bank Challan should visit the PSK after two days as it takes about 48 hours for the payment to get reflected in the PSK system.

    Such 'walk-in’ Applicants should visit their respective PSK as follows:
    1. Districts covered under PSKs (Begumpet, Ameerpet and Tolichowki) in Hyderabad: Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medak, Nalgonda, Warangal, Mahaboobnagar, Kurnool
    2. Districts covered under PSK Tirupati: Chittoor, YSR Kadapa, Potti SriRamulu Nellore, Ananthapur
    3. Districts covered under PSK Vijayawada: Krishna, Guntur, Khammam, Prakasam
    4. Districts covered under PSK Nizamabad: Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar
  3. For cases requiring appointments, Applicant should take appointment in their respective PSKs. However, applicant can also choose to take appointment at other PSKs in case the applicant is unable to get appointment at her/his respective PSK.
  4. Please note that Tatkal application processing will start only after checking of required documents, Police Verification status / confirmation of Verification Certificate (annexure- F).
  5. For passport of Minor children:
    1. If only one of the parents holds a valid passport but other does not, then both parents should be physically present along with the original passport of one parent while submitting the passport application of minor child.
    2. And if, both the parents are having passports, then any one parent can be present with both parents' passports (in original) while submitting the application for minor child.
    3. In case none of the parent has the passport then both should be physically present with their ID Proofs.
  6. Applicants can visit Regional Passport Office, Kummarguda, Secunderabad for enquiry between 9.30 AM to 11:30AM ONLY on working days.
  7. Applicants who are applying for re-issue of passports with change in Date of Birth/Place of Birth are requested not to approach the Hon’ble High Court directly. They have to first submit their applications at PSKs and their applications will be processed as per extant rules. Only in cases where the changes cannot be accorded as per the extant rules, such applicants will be directed to submit a declaratory order from a civil court to effect the change in Date of Birth/Place of Birth.
  8. Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is issued to Indian Passport holders in case they have applied for Residential Status, Employment or Long term visa or for immigration. PCC cannot be issued for persons going abroad on Tourist Visa. Please see PCC Documentation.
