Introduction
Passport Office, Mumbai is one of the oldest offices functioning since 1954. It is subordinate office of the Ministry of External Affairs under the supervision of the Joint Secretary (CPV), who functions as Chief Passport Officer, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi. Earlier it was the Central Passport & Emigration Organization subsequently it was named as Central Passport Organization.

News and Announcements

Online Payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at Passport Seva Kendra(s) under this Passport Office. Click here for details.
  1. Categories of Applicants allowed as "Walk-In with ARN" only at PSK Malad & PSK Andheri between 9.00 am to 10.30 am. (These walk-in categories are not applicable for tatkaal applications):

    Following mentioned categories of applicants are allowed as “Walk-in Applicants”. Applicants falling under these categories need to register Online, fill in the online application form and generate Application Reference Number (ARN) at least one day in advance before visiting the PSK. Such applicants may visit the PSK with required set of documents in original along with self attested copies and printed ARN sheet.
    1. Applicants for issue of Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
    2. Senior Citizens (60 years and above)
    3. Minors below 15 years of age whose parents hold valid passports with spouse name duly endorsed
    4. Applicants who for deletion of ECR status in Passports without change in personal particulars
    5. Physically challenged applicants (including visually impaired, deaf and mute reporting with certificate
    6. Applicants from Beed, Aurangabad, Silvassa, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri.
  2. Please note that Tatkaal application processing will start only after checking of required documents, Police Verification status / confirmation of Verification Certificate.
  3. Applicants can visit RPO Mumbai for enquiry between 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM ONLY from Monday to Friday (Except Wednesday) identified as Enquiry Days by RPO in a week. Please note no enquiries will be entertained on Wednesdays.
  4. Applicants who have been refused token due to non-availability of required set of documents can re-visit the same PSK as walk-in in T+2 working days from the date of appointment and as per the time slot mentioned in the appointment slip for all the 3 PSKs under Mumbai RPO. On-line appointment is not mandatory for these applicants.
NOTE :
  1. For files on Hold, applicant should complete the necessary procedure within 365 days of the Application Date or the application will be considered  Null and Void and fees will be forfeited. The applicant will have to take fresh appointment to apply for Passport.
  2. Applicants please note that Jumbo booklets are temporarily not available, as it is in the process of technical upgradation. However applicants may choose 36 pages normal booklet and pay the fees accordingly. Inconvenience is highly regretted.
